Fernando Botero
One of Columbia's most famous artists. Born in 1932 and still active. He is well-known for paintings and sculptures of "large" people with exaggerated proportions. Not to my liking (I love Guayasamin) but certainly distinctive. The sculpture is amazing. Now, I learned that he has recently done some political work depicting the atrocities in Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.
